1. What inspired your work for this festival?
My work for this festival is inspired by the universe, the creation of life on Earth, and the invisible energies that connect us all. I explore cosmic cycles, birth, transformation, and the harmony between our planet and the greater universe. Each painting is a reminder that we are part of something far bigger, timeless, eternal, and beautifully interconnected.
2. Can you tell us a bit about your creative process?
My creative process is deeply intuitive. I work in layers, combining materials such as acrylic, modelling paste, metallic pigments, and sometimes gemstones to create multidimensional textures. I let energy guide me. Colors, structures, and forms emerge naturally as I build the piece. I never paint from a sketch. I paint from a feeling. My work grows like a universe forming, step by step, layer by layer.
3. Does your cultural background influence your art?
Yes, very much so. I grew up in Slovakia, a country rich in folklore, symbolism, and deep cultural roots. For me, this connection is also very personal. My mother is a well-known ethnographer, and through her I discovered the beauty of our villages, traditional crafts, colors, patterns, and the stories carried by generations. She brought me close to traditions, to the rhythm of rural life, and to the emotional world behind our heritage. This shaped my artistic sensitivity from childhood. It taught me to see meaning in symbols, to feel energy in colors, and to understand that every creation has a soul and a story. Even though my art is abstract and strongly inspired by the universe, the spiritual depth and intuitive storytelling come directly from this cultural foundation.
4. Which piece here at the festival is your favorite, and why?
My favorite piece at the festival is My Blue Planet. It represents the miracle and fragility of our Earth. Its water, its energy, its cycles of rebirth. This painting carries both love and responsibility, a reminder that everything we have, life, joy, and beauty, comes from our planet. It is a tribute to the place that sustains us and connects us all.
5. What feeling or message do you hope people get from your art?
I hope people feel peace, connection, and expansion. My work carries the message that everything in life moves in cycles, light, darkness, and rebirth. I want viewers to feel that no matter where they are in their personal journey, there is always a new beginning, a new light, and a new universe within them.
6. How has your art changed over time?
My art has become more spiritual, more structured, and more powerful in its symbolism. In the beginning, I explored color and form. Over time, I moved deeper into the stories, energies, and cosmic messages behind each painting. Now I paint not only what I see, but what I feel and what I hope others will feel.
7. Are there any artists or movements that inspire you?
I am inspired by the expressive freedom of abstract art and by artists who work with intuition, symbolism, and emotion. I admire movements that explore spirituality, cosmic vision, and the connection between the seen and the unseen. But most of all, I am inspired by nature, the greatest artist of all.
8. Looking ahead, what impact do you hope your art will have?
I hope my art continues to build bridges between people, cultures, and perspectives. I am the founder of Unity Art Nations, an international curatorial platform dedicated to connecting artists from different countries. As the Brand Ambassador of the Qatar International Art Festival for the Slovak Republic, I brought artists from Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Hungary to this festival because I believe deeply that art should unite people regardless of culture, religion, or nationality.Looking ahead, I want my art to inspire openness, harmony, and understanding. If my work can make someone feel peace, connection, or hope, even for a moment, then it has fulfilled its purpose. My dream is for my art to travel the world and remind us that, like the universe, we are all part of one shared story.
